Earth Day

Earth Day is tomorrow, April 22nd. What are you doing to introduce new ways to impact and clean up the ground we live on? Even if it's a little step each day or month, your 'one' decision will help keep where we live manageable. Plus, you get to meet new people and interact with community by showing or informing ways you can help.

Here's some easy ways Ladybird Poppy has chosen to Go Green, if you have other suggestions, please comment away!!

Compost - all those many stems that are cut, get composted back into rich soil for Denver community gardens.

Recycle - The many cardboard boxes that flowers and vases arrive in and plastic wrap around the bunches get recycled back to Denver.

Reuse vases and containers - If you have old vases, tins, containers that you don't use, contact Ladybird and see if they are able to be reused. We also rent vases, so they are used multiple times for events and weddings.

Reuse packing material to transport those many vases to events.

All the buckets of water used to process flowers, get dumped back into our gardens.

Turn off lights during the day, open the windows for natural lighting to save energy.

Use natural cleaners and cloth instead of paper towel.

Any unused flowers are designed for a Thinking of You bouquet for a neighbor or friend.

Have a wonderful weekend and google ideas where you can be a helping hand in your neighborhood or city this weekend!
